Changes in the labeling and packaging of Texfire product families
Texfire Products: Welding Blankets, Vehicle Fire Blankets, and Welder Protection.
In Europe, there is a regulatory framework based on ISO standards that covers all types of products and provides guidelines for both their manufacturing and performance. However, this regulatory framework does not encompass all products manufactured in Europe, such as welding blankets, torch welding blankets, or car fire blankets, among many others, which do not have a specific norm or certification to evaluate the product's performance during its primary application.
At Texfire, in cases where a product cannot be certified under any specific norm for its primary application, we chose to provide customers with technical information regarding the fabrics or threads used in the product. These components are crucial in determining the level of protection and resistance of the final product.
As of December 2023, a public governmental body overseeing compliance with product regulations, labeling, and packaging has requested that we adjust this communication policy as it could potentially confuse our customers in some cases. Consequently, we have rectified the packaging and labels of those products for which there is still no specific certification norm, removing references to standards and certifications related to the fabric of the product itself, as the fabric is considered a component of the finished product. We have also appropriately recertified the products to comply with the relevant regulations.
The products affected by these changes are:

- 63-013 Torch Welding Blanket
- 62-001 Welding Blanket WELD SX
- 62-006 FR Bandana - Recertification to comply with EU Regulation 2016/425
- 62-105 FR Neck Gaiter - Recertification to comply with EU Regulation 2016/425
- 62-060 FR Inner Shirt - Recertification to comply with EU Regulation 2016/425
- 62-061 FR Balaclava Hood - Recertification to comply with EU Regulation 2016/425
- 62-010 FR Hood - Recertification to comply with EU Regulation 2016/425
- 63-027 Scooter Fire Extinguishing Blanket
- 63-028 Motorcycle Fire Extinguishing Blanket
We clarify that the product will undergo no changes in materials or construction.
To rectify our mistake, we propose three options:
- Retrieve the product from stock, and we will resend the product with updated information once we have the certificates issued by the official laboratory (April 2024).
- Send only the packaging and technical documentation in accordance with the new certificates to facilitate the exchange without returning the product. The updated information regarding packaging and technical documentation will also be available on our website (www.texfire.net) on the respective product pages from April 2024.
- We are open to discussing any other method.
All new products manufactured and marketed by Texfire from March 2024 onwards already comply with these regulations.
