CAR FIRE PRO BLANKET
HEAT-RESISTANT BLANKET FOR EXTREME TEMPERATURES
The PRO fire blanket for cars is a solution designed to withstand the extreme temperatures reached during the extinguishing of fires in electric vehicles with lithium batteries, as well as petrol cars. Made from mineral-based fabrics, this blanket can withstand temperatures of up to 1,500°C, providing a high level of protection against intense fires.
With a surface area of 8x6 metres (48 m²), it can cover most vehicles, including SUVs and 4x4s. The blanket weighs approximately 35 kg and features four reinforced handles for easy handling. For proper placement and safety reasons, at least two people are recommended for deployment.
The PRO fire-resistant blanket for cars is delivered inside a carrying bag to facilitate its transport and storage. The special folding system of the blanket allows it to be unfolded and positioned over the burning car in less than 20 seconds. As a storage option, Texfire also offers a rigid cabinet that can be screwed to the wall.
The fabric used to make this blanket is certified with the official EN 13501-1 standard - Classification, based on the fire performance of construction products and building elements - Achieving the A2-s1-d0 classification.
Using this blanket offers multiple advantages over other fire suppression systems, such as dry powder extinguishers or water hoses:
- Contains and prevents the spread of fire to nearby vehicles or structures.
- Traps some of the toxic gases and particles released during the fire.
- Facilitates emergency services intervention.
- Does not require a water supply or specialised training for use.
- Unlike powder extinguishers, it does not create hazardous residues or airborne particles.
Customisation: Texfire offers the option to customise the storage bag with your company’s logo. For more information about customisation, contact our team.

- Vehicles with lithium batteries.
WARNING – ELECTRIC VEHICLES
Using this blanket on electric vehicles will help prevent flames from spreading, but it is unlikely to fully extinguish the fire. When an electric vehicle catches fire, the battery acids produce flammable gases. This means that even if a blanket is used to "smother" the fire, the battery will still generate enough combustible gases to keep the fire from being completely extinguished.
USE RECOMMENDATIONS
- It is recommended that at least two people be involved in placing the blanket over the vehicle.
- Do not remove the blanket from the burning vehicle without the supervision of emergency services.
CLEANING AND RECONDITIONING OF THE BLANKET
The customer is responsible for ensuring the blanket is in perfect condition after each use, as well as folding it properly for storage.
If the blanket has not suffered significant damage that could affect its functionality, follow these recommendations for cleaning and storage:
- Surface cleaning: Remove dirt, debris or particles.
- Washing: Only water may be used. Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach or solvents that could damage the material.
- Drying: Allow the blanket to air dry completely before storing it.
- Storage: Ensure the blanket is completely dry before folding and placing it in its case. It is recommended to follow the provided folding instructions.
If in doubt, Texfire recommends opting for a new blanket as the best way to guarantee its full functionality for future use.
