The Texfire car fire extinguisher blanket is designed to extinguish fires in combustion vehicles, whether gasoline or diesel, as well as to contain flames in electric cars.

With a surface area of 6x9 m (54 m²), this fire suppression blanket can cover most cars in case of a fire, including SUVs and off-road vehicles. For proper placement and safety reasons, it is recommended that at least 2 people intervene in the event of a fire. The car fire suppression blanket weighs approximately 28 kg and incorporates 4 handles to facilitate its placement, 2 dark-colored ones on the right side and 2 light-colored ones on the left side.

The Texfire fire-resistant car fire suppression blanket is made of fiberglass fabric coated on both sides with a special polymer for high temperatures. This fabric is certified according to the UNE EN 13501 standard.

The effectiveness of car fire suppression blankets lies in their ability to control and extinguish flames. In electric cars, the blanket helps to keep the fire under control and facilitates the work of emergency responders, allowing them to extinguish the fire according to the type of electric battery installed.

Using this fire suppression blanket has multiple advantages over other fire suppression systems for extinguishing flames in a car, such as powder extinguishers or water hoses:

  • There is no need to have a water supply or tank nearby.
  • Only 2 people are required to extinguish a burning car.
  • It can be easily stored and does not expire.
  • No firefighting training is required.
  • It prevents the fire from spreading to nearby vehicles or surrounding facilities.
  • It contains toxic fumes from combustion.
  • It contains opaque fumes, allowing for perfect visibility and control of the situation.
  • It prevents facilities, such as underground parking lots, from being damaged by smoke or other airborne incandescent particles.
  • It prevents fire residues from filtering into the sewage system, as can happen with the use of water.
  • It leaves no trace of suspended particles or deposits on surfaces, as can happen with extinguishers.
  • It can be used near electrical panels or other water-sensitive installations.
  • It greatly limits the damage caused by the incident.
  • It facilitates the work of firefighters both in terms of resources and time.

The car fire suppression blanket is delivered in a textile bag for easy transportation and storage. As an option, Texfire offers:

  • A more resistant bag, waterproof and airtight, with greater resistance to mechanical stress.
  • A rigid wall-mounted cabinet, with rubber seals that prevent water and dust penetration. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

  • Measurements: 9x6 meters (54 m2).
  • Weight: 28 kg.
  • 4 handles. Bicolor system to differentiate sides.
  • Z-fold for quick deployment.
  • Suitable for electric cars with lithium batteries and gasoline cars.
  • Includes waterproof bag.
  • More durable waterproof bag (optional).
  • Rigid wall cabinet (optional).

Using this blanket in electric vehicles will help prevent flames from spreading, but it will hardly completely extinguish the fire. When an electric vehicle catches fire, battery acids generate flammable gases. This means that even if a blanket is used to "smother" the fire, the battery will generate enough combustible gases to prevent the fire from being completely extinguished.

  • It is recommended that at least two people be involved in placing the blanket over the vehicle.
  • Do not remove the blanket from the burning vehicle without the supervision of emergency services.
  • To ensure proper functionality, do not use it in more than one fire.
