CAR FIRE BLANKET

Ref:
63-024

FIRE BLANKET FOR GASOLINE, DIESEL, AND ELECTRIC CARS

The Texfire car fire blanket is designed to extinguish fires in combustion vehicles, whether gasoline or diesel, and also to contain flames in electric cars. It is made of fiberglass fabric coated on both sides with a polymer. It incorporates 4 grips to facilitate its placement, 2 dark-colored on the right side and 2 light-colored on the left side.

With a surface area of 6x9 m (54 m²), this fire blanket allows covering most cars in case of fire, including SUVs and off-road vehicles. For proper placement and safety reasons, in the event of a fire, the intervention of at least 2 people is recommended. The car fire blanket has an approximate weight of 28 kg.

The effectiveness of the car fire blankets lies in their ability to control and smother flames. In electric cars, the blanket helps keep the fire under control and facilitates the work of security forces, being able to extinguish the fire according to the type of electric battery installed.

The use of this fire blanket has multiple advantages over other fire extinguishing systems for putting out flames in a car, such as powder extinguishers or water hoses:

  • No need for a nearby water outlet or reservoir.
  • Only 2 people are needed to extinguish a car on fire.
  • It can be easily stored and does not expire.
  • No firefighting training is required.
  • It prevents the fire from spreading to nearby vehicles or surrounding facilities.
  • Contains toxic fumes from combustion.
  • Contains opaque smoke, allowing for perfect visibility and situation control.
  • Prevents facilities, such as underground parking lots, from being damaged by smoke or other suspended incandescent particles.
  • Prevents fire remnants from seeping into the sewer system, as happens with water use.
  • Leaves no trace of suspended or deposited particles on surfaces, as occurs with extinguishers.
  • Can be used near electrical panels or other water-sensitive installations.
  • Greatly limits the damages caused by the incident.
  • Facilitates the intervention of firefighters both in means and in time.

The car fire blanket is delivered in a textile carrying bag to facilitate its transportation and storage. As an option, Texfire offers:

  • A more resistant, waterproof, and airtight carrying bag, with greater resistance to mechanical stress.
  • A rigid wall-mounted cabinet, with rubber seals to prevent water and dust penetration. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

APPLICATIONS

  • Gasoline cars.

  • Electric cars.

ELECTRIC VEHICLES WARNING

Using this blanket in electric vehicles will help prevent flames from spreading, but it will hardly completely extinguish the fire. When an electric vehicle catches fire, battery acids generate flammable gases. This means that even if a blanket is used to "smother" the fire, the battery will generate enough combustible gases to prevent the fire from being completely extinguished.

RECOMMENDATIONS

USE RECOMMENDATIONS

  • It is recommended that at least two people be involved in placing the blanket over the vehicle.
  • Do not remove the blanket from the burning vehicle without the supervision of emergency services.
  • To ensure proper functionality, do not use it in more than one fire.
