EXTREME TEMPERATURE SILICA 180 FABRIC

Ref:
21-133

LIGHTWEIGHT SILICA FABRIC FOR EXTREME TEMPERATURES

SILICA 180 is a flame retardant fabric that can withstand extreme heat conditions. It is composed of mineral fibres, primarily silica (95%). This mineral mainly contains silicon dioxide (SiO2), known for its excellent thermal stability and fire resistance.

SILICA 180 is a fabric capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 1,000°C while maintaining its structural integrity, making it an ideal material for use in industrial applications requiring extreme thermal protection.

This fabric is made with a plain-weave structure, which gives it a tightly interlocked and very homogeneous structure, resulting in a very thin and lightweight flame retardant fabric with good thermal properties. It has an average thickness of just 0.2 mm, a weight of 180 g/m², and the fabric roll has a usable width of 92 cm.

In general, its thermal and mechanical properties make it versatile both as a structural base for other fabrics, such as aluminised fabrics, or for use in different solutions, such as thermal shields, fire barriers, or fire blankets.

SILICA 180 has been tested in Texfire’s internal laboratory according to the ISO 15025 standard – Test method for limited flame spread – and achieves the A1 and A2 classifications. It has also been tested according to ISO 9151 – Determination of heat transmission when exposed to flame – resulting in a B1 classification.
