WELDING BLANKET WELD S1
WELDING BLANKET SPARKS PROTECTION UP TO 600ºC
The Weld S1 welding fire resistant blanket from Texfire has been designed and manufactured by Texfire using Wels1 fabric to protect objects and surfaces from the sparks generated during welding and cutting operations. It is a fiberglass blanket with one side coated in a special silicone designed for high temperatures. This special finish prevents incandescent particles from becoming embedded in the blanket, as is the case with standard fiberglass blankets. Thanks to this feature, the lifespan of the WELD S1 welding blanket is significantly increased, as the incandescent projections do not stick, preventing the fiberglass from carbonizing and allowing the sparks to fall to the ground, losing their temperature very quickly.
Weld S1 welding blanket is finished with a black bies on its perimeter to avoid it frays, tailored with Nomex® black colored flame retardant thread, it also incorporates 4 metallic grommets, one on each corner, in order to install it or hang it as a curtain.

This welding blanket is light, flexible and impermeable (water, greases and oils) and resists temperatures of 250ºC in continuous works and peak temperatures up to 600ºC. Comparing it to standard fiberglass blankets, Weld S1 flame retardant blanket stands out because of its long useful life and its easy management. Available in 2 sizes:
- 150x100 cm. (750 gr.)
- 200x150 cm. (1.300 gr.)
Weld S1 welding blanket has been designed to contain impacts from sparks and incandescent projections caused in soft or medium welding operations, like TIG, MIG, and electrode. It is also able to withstand melted metal slashes from cutting and grinding. In order to achieve the blanket’s maximum result, Texfire recommends using Weld S1 welding blanket vertically or diagonally, hanf or directly over the surface to protect. It’s important to avoid placing the blanket completely horizontal, because oversized projections can pierce the blanket, if falling over it and stay static during the temperature drop.
WelS1 fabric used to tailor the welding blanket, is certified in 2020 with regulation UNE 23727 - Reaction to fire of construction materials - obtaining an M1 classification. Weld S1 blanket has also been tested internally according regulation EN ISO 9150 - Behavior of materials over the impact of small splashes of melted metal - obtaining a Class 1 classification.

USE RECOMMENDATIONS.
- Always place the black silicone side in contact with incandescent projections.
- Can be washed using a wet cloth.
- Never use alcohols, solvents or detergents to wash it.
- As longer the distance from the sparking source to the fabric, the better it will behave.
- It is recommended to store it always with the elastic band, in order to extend its useful life.
- In case of any damage to the product that may compromise its proper performance, it is recommended to replace it, to ensure maximum safety and protection.
