FLAME RETARDANT BLANKET FOR WELDING 900ºC, LIGHT AND REVERSIBLE
The WELD S2 flame retardant welding blanket is made from Texfire’s flame retardant fabric WELS2. It is designed to provide maximum safety and protection against sparks and metal projections produced during welding, cutting, and grinding work. Its high-temperature silicone coating allows it to be used on both sides. Furthermore, this blanket is completely impermeable to liquids, greases, and oils, making it easy to clean with a damp cloth. It is a highly flexible and malleable product that offers the same level of protection on both sides, enabling safe working and protection without any issues.
The WELD S2 flame retardant welding blanket has been developed to provide a high degree of protection against welding sparks from TIG, MIG, and Stick processes, as well as cutting and grinding. It is a versatile product that can be used to protect surfaces, objects, and installations. Texfire recommends using it in a diagonal or vertical position.

The blanket is reinforced with bies tape and made with flame retardant thread. It presents metallic eyelets in each one of the corners to make its installation easy. Besides, it includes an elastic band to roll up and store comfortably. It is available in 2 sizes:
- 150x100 cm (900 gr.)
- 200x150 cm (1.750 gr.)
The WELD S2 fabric used in its manufacturing achieves the EN ISO 13501-1 certification in 2023 - Classification based on the fire behavior of construction products and building elements – attaining the A2 s1 d0 results. Additionally, WELS2 fabric used to tailor WELD S2 welding blankets, has been tested and certified with regulation UNE 23727 - Reaction to fire of construction materials - obtaining an M1 classification. This test was performed recently, during 2020. It also has been tested under regulation UNE 13773 - Behavior to fire of curtains and drapes, and it obtained the best classification - Class 1.

USE RECOMMENDATIONS.
- Always place the black silicone side in contact with incandescent projections.
- Can be washed using a wet cloth.
- Never use alcohols, solvents or detergents to wash it.
- As longer the distance from the sparking source to the fabric, the better it will behave.
- It is recommended to store it always with the elastic band, in order to extend its useful life.
- In case of any damage to the product that may compromise its proper performance, it is recommended to replace it, to ensure maximum safety and protection.
