FLAME RETARDANT FABRIC OF E-GLASS TYPE FIBERGLASS OF 430 GSM

EGLA 430 is a flame retardant fabric of E-Glass type fiberglass, with a satin ligament 4/1, a grammage of 430 g/m2, a thickness of 0,4 mm and a useful width of 150 cm. It is known for offering a great balance between mechanical behaviour, durability, stability and reliability to high temperatures, at a very competitive cost. Also, it’s a malleable fabric that can be used in several industries and sectors. EGLA 430 can be worked in continuous ways at 450ºC arriving to peaks of 550ºC, and thus maintaining its structural integrity.

EGLA 430 flame retardant fabric is an interesting option for multiple uses. Its heat resistance and flame retardant feature, in addition to its great malleability, turns it into a suitable fabric to plug, cover, sectorize and wrap elements or areas, with an economical and resisting flame retardant fabric.

Thanks to its structural resistance, it can be used as a base to obtain new fabrics. With the application of some finishes, or lamination processes, its qualities can be enhanced.

EGLA 430 has been tested in Texfire’s internal laboratories according to regulation UNE EN ISO 15025 - Test method for limited flame spreading – achieving A1-A2 classification. And according to regulation UNE EN ISO 9151 - Determination of heat transmission in exposure to a flame - Obtaining a B1 classification. Its mechanical resistance to traction has also been tested with test methodology EN ISO 13934 – obtaining results of 2.000 NT in warp direction and 3.400 NT in weft direction.

RECOMMENDATIONS

USE RECOMMENDATIONS.

  • Do not vacuum, brush nor rub because fibers can be released.
  • Check its status before its use.
  • It is recommended to store it always rolled as a tube in order to  extend its useful life.
  • It is recommended to handle the fabric with gloves, glasses and facemask in order to avoid fiberglass fibers to get in direct contact with skin, so they can cause slight irritation.
  • It is not recommended to use it as a fire blanket  (does not meet regulation EN 1869) nor as a welding blanket.
