LIGHTWEIGHT SILICA FABRIC ALUMINIZED ON BOTH SIDES
The SILICA 180 AL2 is a flame retardant fabric aluminized on both sides, capable of withstanding extreme heat conditions. This resistance is due to its core, composed of mineral fibers with a high silica content (95%), allowing it to endure temperatures of up to 850ºC without losing its structural integrity.
Silica is a mineral primarily composed of silicon dioxide (SiO2) and is known for its excellent thermal stability and flame retardant, making it an ideal fabric for industrial applications requiring extreme thermal resistance.
This fabric is manufactured with a plain-weave structure that gives it a locked and homogeneous structure, ideal for applications requiring a thin and lightweight fabric with good thermal properties. The aluminized finish on each side uses aluminum foil with a thickness of 12 microns.
SILICA 180 AL2 has an average thickness of 0.33 mm, a weight of 290 g/m², and the fabric roll has a usable width of 90 cm, making it versatile and suitable for various uses such as thermal shields, reflective heat screens, or other applications requiring protection against radiant heat.
The SILICA 180 AL2 has been tested in Texfire's internal laboratory according to the ISO 15025 standard - Test method for limited flame spread - achieving classifications A1 and A2. It has also been tested according to the ISO 9151 standard - Determination of heat transmission during exposure to a flame - resulting in a B1 classification. Testing has been carried out according to the ISO 6942 standard - Assessment of materials and material assemblies when exposed to a radiant heat source - obtaining a C4 classification.
